Philosophy 

​

Little Owl Early Education Centre would like to acknowledge the Wonnarua People who are the traditional custodians of this land. We would also like to pay respect for the elders past and present of the Wonnarua People and extend that respect to the Aboriginal people present. 

​

Vision 

Little Owl Early Education Centre enables each child to feel safe and secure in  a warm and nurturing environment within natural and calming surroundings. 

​

Nature 

Our playground is designed to promote active play and provides a natural environment to explore and develop physical skills. 

We encourage children to consider their impact to the natural world and take responsibility in caring for all living things through supporting their engagement in sustainable practices. 

​

Mixed age grouping

Provides opportunities for younger children to learn from their older peers through more advanced language, physical and social interactions. Older children benefit by being able to show leadership and support their younger developing peers. 

​

Learning 

Our areas of play are designed to be open ended and involve natural and repurposed loose parts to encourage and motivate children to use their imagination.

We support an inquiry based approach to learning letting the children's interest, curiosity and imagination lead their learning journey.

Relationships

We believe continuity of educators build trusting supportive relationships with children and families.

Children get to enjoy and share their day with the educators who have more time to assist each child and respect them as individuals.

Support

We believe it is important for children, families and educators to feel supported and have a sense of self and place in our service. Diversity is embraced and we value each person's unique beliefs, culture, and experience. We respect and encourage each person's interests, skills, abilities, learning style and needs. The Early Learning Framework supports us to ensure that learning is inclusive, engaging and meaningful for all.
